As active participants in the autism community, we see it as our duty to not only carry out our mission of delivering high-quality parent training to underserved areas but also to raise awareness about autism and educate our community. In addition, we host free quarterly community events.
Parent Education
Our workshops and teaching sessions for parents are centered on fostering parent education and nurturing collaboration with professionals. These sessions emphasize understanding the characteristics of Autism Spectrum Disorder and its influence on communication, social development, behavior management, and school services. Parents gain insight into their child's individual learning style and acquire effective strategies to facilitate learning at home. Additionally, these groups offer parents a supportive environment where they can connect with and engage in discussions with other parents
Personalized Family Support Services
Our individual family support services are designed to assist families in promptly devising an action plan that caters to the unique needs of their child and the well-being of the entire family. This comprehensive family planning encompasses the management of life with autism, seeking appropriate therapies, communicating with service providers, identifying funding resources, and navigating the various complexities that come with being a parent to a child with autism. At HHF, we are dedicated to empowering families with the resilience they require to navigate this lifelong journey with autism. It's essential to recognize that the autism journey is more akin to a long marathon than a quick sprint
Advocacy for Special Education
As the diagnosis rate of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) continues to rise, and to address the unique and evolving requirements of families and their children with ASD, HHF Advocacy has evolved into a collaborative practice of experienced, dedicated advocates. Our team is profoundly committed to assisting families, ensuring they have a comprehensive understanding of their rights under federal and local government regulations. Please visit the Advocacy section on our website for specific information regarding the fee-based nature of our advocacy services. We do offer scholarships for a limited number of clients.
