TESTIMONIALS

"Hatching Hope Foundation provides not only hope, but provides results. Sabrina Vaughn and her staff have been a god-send. They have been diligent in finding solutions and services that would help our autistic grandchild make educational and emotional progress. They were willing to challenge the "status quo" in the School District through any means necessary. Their timely advice and knowledge of the process for receiving services in the school district helped put my mind at ease. They continue to question applicable services that our baby is eligible for and assist us in holding the school district accountable through requiring data to determine the effectiveness of the services. They are well organized and prepared during meetings and ARDs. They walk side by side with you to determine the goals that you have for your child. I truly believe that without Hatching Hope, we would have been operating in the dark and would not have received the right services for our baby. If you want an advocate that understands the system and who can advocate on behalf of your child, you will find no better organization than Hatching Hope Foundation.”

"I am incredibly grateful to have found the support I needed from the Hatching Hope Foundation for my daughter, who has ADHD. From establishing a 504 program in elementary school (6th grade) to recent support in 10th grade, HHF has been instrumental in addressing my daughter's evolving educational needs. As my daughter's requirements and support levels changed over the years, HHF consistently aimed for the best outcomes, ensuring she had the necessary tools for success. When we initially engaged with HHF, I lacked clarity on the services I could request from the school and how to tailor a 504 to my daughter's learning needs. The guidance, personalized 1:1 time, and the participation of Mrs. Sabrina and her team in meetings with school counselors, teachers, and principals were invaluable. Their presence as advocates on the calls not only facilitated smooth discussions but also garnered more respect from school personnel. Sabrina's personal 1:1 time with my daughter has been particularly impactful. Her ability to connect and communicate with youth facing challenges has empowered my daughter, leaving her with increased self-confidence after their conversations. In the Special Education field, Sabrina and the team at HHF showcase a high level of expertise. I wholeheartedly recommend their services to anyone struggling to understand how to support their child in navigating the educational system or seeking assistance in advocating for specific support from the school."

"I take pride in being the mother of thirteen-year-old twins. My son, Thomas, received a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder at the age of two, a moment that left me feeling utterly lost, confused, and scared. Facing an autism diagnosis can be emotionally overwhelming for a parent, instilling a sense of hopelessness. I've personally experienced that depth of despair. In my search for guidance, I hesitantly confided in a co-worker about my son's condition, and she promptly recommended one of the most reputable child advocates she knew, Sabrina Vaughn. During our initial meeting, my mind raced with questions and concerns—what would she think of me, would I be blamed for his disorder, and more. To my relief, Mrs. Vaughn proved to be open, remarkably honest, and practical, qualities crucial for helping Thomas integrate successfully into the general population. Beyond providing emotional support, Sabrina offered valuable resources to organizations I had never encountered. Over the years, I've leaned on Sabrina as my special education advocate, guiding me through the complexities of the IEP process. Hatching HOPE has equipped me with knowledge that I now share with other families on a daily basis, creating a ripple effect of support and understanding in our community."

“Embarking on my journey with autism presented significant challenges. Despite my involvement in the educational system and close collaboration with the school's diagnostician, I quickly realized how little I truly knew about Special Education and children with special needs. Sabrina, a mother of triplets, played a crucial role in expanding my awareness of autism. This became evident when I began recognizing certain signs in my own two-year-old daughter. Sabrina, perceptive and supportive, urged me to consult a developmental pediatrician to explore the possibility of autism. During my initial visit, the pediatrician reassured me that my daughter was simply developing at her own pace, deviating slightly from her peers. I felt a sense of relief that he didn't confirm any serious concerns about my child. Upon sharing this with Sabrina, she, as a steadfast advocate, encouraged me to seek a second opinion. Sabrina became my guiding force in the quest for answers and a deeper understanding of my child. She embarked on this journey alongside me, providing unwavering support for both me and my daughter. Without Sabrina's persistent encouragement and support, I might still be in denial, hoping that the challenges associated with autism would somehow disappear. I am profoundly grateful for her because she empowered me to confront the reality I had already suspected. I credit her for helping me make a significant life change — embracing the beautiful daughter with Autism that God entrusted to me. Autism has forever altered my life, and I thank God for blessing me with Sabrina Vaughn, a friend and sorority sister, who knew exactly how to guide and support me throughout this transformative journey.”

"Our daughter Selah, is a smart, energetic, sensory-seeking, beautiful, ten-year-old girl. Our personal journey into this world of autism began in 2015. At her two-year checkup, we were formally referred for further evaluations to get to the bottom of her speech delay. She also struggled with her sleep and became limited in the foods she would eat. As time passed, we recognized more telltale signs and characteristics of autism such as repetitive behaviors, covering her ears, limited social interaction, etc. Faced with this reality, we begin hoping and praying that our research would guide us to the resources and support we needed. When we connected with the Hatching Hope Foundation, our prayers were answered! We found a a vibrant and welcoming community, support for families, tools and resources for building skills and so much more. Since starting public school, HHF’s advocacy services have been invaluable. The exceptional advocates at the Hatching Hope Foundation have helped us ensure that Selah has the free appropriate public education she is entitled to by federal law. Her individual education plan is par excellent and requires all her teachers and aides to be trained on her communication device (i.e., AAC). Further, her plan includes goals, support, and all that she needs to be successful in school. We cannot overstate the excellence and professionalism of HHF advocates and the difference they have made for our family. Their superior understanding on the law and legal standards, education terminology, available resources clearly shows in their preparation for meetings. The Hatching Hope Foundation has also allowed us to focus on just being parents. The HHF staff tackle all the tough or confusing obstacles that parents faces with tenacity and heart. Autism never takes even a single day off. We are sincerely grateful for the Hatching Hope Foundation and the support and services they provide for families impacted by autism. With the help of Hatching Hope Foundation, Selah will continue to grow and develop into the person God created her to be. HHF is truly breaking down barriers so that the world can acknowledge and celebrate the gifts that Selah and others with disability have to offer."
